The Long Run Dynamics of Sustainable Economic Development on Ecological Footprint in Developed and Developing Countries: Panel Quantile Regression

چکیده

Rapid human consumption increases natural resource consumption, which damages the environment. The present study links sustainable economic development and Ecological Footprint in 78 developing 93 developed countries from 1990 to 2020. This measures using Human Development Index (HDI). uses panel quantile regression (PQR) analyze data lower, middle, higher ecological footprint groups. concluded that with lower groups, a U-shaped relationship exists while groups inverted EKC is valid between HDI. It shows initially degrade environment by increasing their footprint. Furthermore, as these grow, they divert attention more environmentally friendly technologies, resulting declining However, demonstrate all indicating are prioritizing growth over environmental concerns. recommends should follow reduce practices.
